Martin Arnold

I first came across the work of Martin Arnold at the Watch Me Move – The Animation Show at the Barbican, a few pieces of his work were being exhibited. And I found his work mesmerizing. And now a source of inspiration as he manipulates film in a way that perverts it’s original intentions to suggest a different narrative within a given classic film which loses it’s innocence in his hands.

Whilst he plays with the content in tact, noticing the small gestures, and hitting the playback and record button with precision to suggest something dark and disturbing. I can not help but watch, wonder what possesses him to do this act. My work has very different intentions, leaving the narrative more in-tact, the dialogue can be seen as a essential whilst that actions of an individual can sometimes portray more than words.
